However, a plumbing check in our house is never on the list just to see if everything is running smoothly. It is important to ensure that pipes at our homes are running smoothly as well. Pipes that get clogged or become a victim to leaks and blockages need attention.

Water Heater Check
After being used at its ultimate ability for showers, washes, laundry, dishes and whatnot for the entire family, suddenly it’s time to give that water heater a little break. We can conduct a quick check to see if the heater is making funny noises. Mostly commonly check for any leakages near the inlet/outlet connections, pressure valves or from the tank itself.
Gutter Check
A routine check for gutters is always advised for any gutter blockages. Gutters can be blocked easily by fallen leaves or when running rainwater collects rubbish. Occasional check-up or clean up by either yourself or plumbers is highly recommended for good water flow.
Infrequently Used Drains
We all have that less visited room, bathroom and a tap and this is often not the best for the pipes. Its always good to run water through unused pipes regularly. Regular water not only helps keep pipes moist but also proactively prevent an odor.
Last but not the least Water Meter Check
If everything seems to be in order, then that’s great everything is working fine. Remember we haven’t checked everything, just the basics so we suggest recording the water meter reading before you go to sleep and check the reading when you wake up. A big difference between figures suggests a leakage else everything is in order.
